The Personal Data Protection Office Expands Its Regional Activities – Local Consultation Point Opened in Katowice

On 15 June 2026, the second regional consultation point of the Personal Data Protection Office was opened at the seat of the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice. The point was officially inaugurated by Adam Zaczkowski, Deputy Voivode of Silesia; Karol Witowski, Press Spokesperson of the Personal Data Protection Office; Dr Stanisław Hady‑Głowiak, member of the Social Team of Experts at the President of the Personal Data Protection Office; and Dr Aleksandra Wentkowska, Regional Representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Silesian Voivodeship.

“Thanks to this initiative, residents of our region will gain easier access to information, advice and support in the field of personal data protection. I am pleased that the Personal Data Protection Office has chosen the Silesian Voivodeship as the second location on the map of consultation points, following the pilot project in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship,” said Deputy Voivode Adam Zaczkowski.

The consultation point has been established for residents of the Silesian Voivodeship who wish to obtain information on personal data protection, their rights under the GDPR, and principles of secure data processing. The initiative aims to increase the accessibility of the Office for citizens and to facilitate contact with experts from the Personal Data Protection Office outside its headquarters in Warsaw.

“The opening of a regional consultation point of the Personal Data Protection Office in Katowice is another step in fulfilling our mission of being closer to citizens. We want not only to answer questions and help solve specific problems, but also to build public awareness of the right to personal data protection. I would like to thank the Silesian Voivodeship Office for its openness to the initiative of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office and for its engagement in bringing it to life. The opening of this point was possible thanks to the goodwill of the regional authorities,” said Karol Witowski, Director of the Department of Social Communication and Press Spokesperson of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Dr Stanisław Hady‑Głowiak, who was directly involved in the work related to launching the point in the Silesian Voivodeship, emphasised the strong interest in providing legal advice on personal data protection during conferences organised by the Department of Business Law at the University of Economics in Katowice in cooperation with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

The opening of the point in Katowice is another step in strengthening the regional presence of the Personal Data Protection Office. The first regional consultation point was launched in Rzeszów. Experience gained from its operation confirmed the need to create places where residents can obtain direct support and answers to questions related to personal data protection.

The consultation point will operate through regular duty hours of experts from the Personal Data Protection Office. Detailed information on dates and rules for using the consultations will be published on the website of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Individuals seeking information or support in matters related to personal data protection may contact the Office in various ways, including via the Personal Data Protection Office helpline, available on working days from 10:00 to 14:00 at 606‑950‑000.
