Risk analysis in accordance with the principle of accountability – webinar

The Personal Data Protection Office invites you to a webinar on risk analysis – one of the most important elements of implementing the principle of accountability under the GDPR. During the online session, the points of analysis described in the Office Bulletin of January 2026 in the article ‘How to conduct a risk analysis in accordance with the principle of accountability?’ will be discussed. The webinar is a response to the high level of interest in the topic.

The event will take place on 9 April 2026 from 10:00 to 13:30 and will provide an opportunity to discuss risk analysis in the context of its practical application, taking into account the most common irregularities and ways of mitigating them.

Risk identification and assessment is not merely a formal requirement, but a process that enables the controller to make informed and justified decisions regarding the processing of personal data. When carried out correctly, it forms the basis for selecting appropriate technical and organisational measures and enables compliance with regulations to be demonstrated.

The webinar will present best practices that support the proper conduct of a risk assessment – from correctly identifying risks to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, through the selection of appropriate safeguards, to documenting the process and updating it regularly. The risk assessment should reflect actual data processing operations and be based on sound reasoning, rather than general assumptions.

The webinar will be led by experts who deal with risk analysis and monitoring compliance with data protection regulations on a daily basis:

•    Mirosław Gumularz, Ph D, Chair of the Social Team of Expert to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office,

•    Bartłomiej Kowalski, Inspections and Breaches Department at the Personal Data Protection Office,

•    Tomasz Izydorczyk, Social Team of Expert to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office .

This session is aimed at data controllers, data protection officers and anyone responsible for ensuring that data processing operations comply with the GDPR, as well as anyone interested in risk analysis and the practical application of the principle of accountability.
