Changes to the accreditation requirements of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office
The President of the Personal Data Protection Office has published changes to the accreditation requirements for entities monitoring codes of conduct and additional accreditation requirements for certifying entities, taking into account the new regulations on e-delivery.
In connection with the end of the transitional period for the application of the Act of November 18, 2020, on Electronic Delivery (Journal of Laws of 2026, item 3), resulting from Article 147(5) of the aforementioned legal act, the content of the “Requirements for the accreditation of entities monitoring codes of conduct” and “Additional requirements for the accreditation of certification bodies” has been updated.
The adopted changes concern the required form of contact with the Personal Data Protection Office for accredited entities monitoring codes of conduct and certification bodies, as well as the Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA). Electronic mailboxes, which were the form of contact specified in earlier versions of the requirements, have been withdrawn from use and replaced with e-delivery mailboxes.
The changes were consulted with the European Data Protection Board.
