The Social Team of Experts to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office on the challenges

On 16 December 2025, a meeting of the Social Team of Experts to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) and the Artificial Intelligence Working Group operating within this Team was held at the headquarters of the Polish SA, as well as in a remote format. Members of the Social Team of Experts discussed current matters concerning the Team and ideas for further substantive cooperation with representatives of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Among the plans discussed were, inter alia, expert webinars on technology-related issues and topics that could be addressed by the tea  of experts, including through articles published in the UODO Bulletin. Issues related to the preparation of the Congress on Data Protection and Modern Technologies, organised as part of the celebrations of the European Data Protection Day, which falls on 28 January, were also discussed.

“I am pleased that we had the opportunity to meet in such a large group. Although the team operates very actively, we usually meet online during weekly status meetings and while working on projects. We often see individual members at numerous events, but having such a large group together in one place is truly a rarity. This makes me all the more glad that we were able to meet and talk about our plans,”
emphasised Mirosław Gumularz, PhD, Chair of the Social Team of Experts to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

During the meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Working Group of the Social team of Experts, the results of a survey on organisations’ needs in the area of AI were presented and the preliminary findings were discussed. The members of the Working Group also debated future directions of activities. Key organisational and competence-related barriers were identified, and recommendations were agreed regarding the development of practical support tools for organisations, including an AI starter pack, educational programmes, and the establishment of a network of practitioners entitled ‘AI at the Personal Data Protection Office’. A work schedule was also agreed.”
