ChAT students at the Personal Data Protection Office

Another study visit took place at the Personal Data Protection Office. Students of the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw, together with their tutor Agnieszka Filak, met with the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office Konrad Komornicki and his associates. The aim of the meeting, which took place on 12 November 2025, was to broaden knowledge in the field of personal data protection.

The meeting was opened by Konrad Komornicki, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, who solemnly welcomed the participants of the event and discussed the political position of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, referring to the provisions of the GDPR and the Act of 10 May 2018 on the Protection of Personal Data.

The students were particularly interested in the issues of independence of the supervisory body, the term of office of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office and the procedure related to his election. They also inquired about the competences of the supervisory authority and details regarding the consideration of cases by the Office.

In the second part of the meeting, a lecture for students was given by Andrzej Zieliński, Head of the Inspections and Breaches Department, who raised issues at the interface of the GDPR and the AI Act. The Personal Data Protection Office expert also drew attention to the rights granted by the GDPR when using AI – e.g. control over automated decisions, transparency, access to data or the possibility of correcting them. He also presented the most important changes introduced by the AI Act.

At the end of the meeting, a question-and-answer session was organised, which was moderated by Office counsel Jakub Groszkowski. The students' questions concerned the rules of filing complaints with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, the issue of reporting data protection breaches by administrators, as well as practical aspects of privacy protection during the use of artificial intelligence.
