The President of the Polish SA at the 74th meeting of the Berlin Group

On November 18–19, 2024, the 74th meeting of the International Working Group on Data Protection in Technology, also known as the Berlin Group, took place in Brussels.

The meeting was attended by several dozen experts representing data protection authorities, non-governmental organisations, other international organisations, and academic circles from around the world. The event was hosted by the European Data Protection Supervisor, Prof. Wojciech Wiewiórowski. Discussions during the meeting covered topics such as neurotechnology and immersive technology (augmented reality), cloud solutions, and mechanisms for global opt-out preference signals and related technologies. Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office and Piotr Drobek, legal advisor, also participated in the event.

Since its establishment in 1983, the Group has focused on issues related to the protection of personal data in the context of the development of modern technologies. Since 2021, the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has served as the Group's secretariat.
