Mirosław Wróblewski has taken the oath of office as the President of the Polish SA

The new President of the Personal Data Protection Office took the oath of office at the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish Parliament) on January 26, and thus he can formally perform his duties as of today. Mirosław Wróblewski replaced Jan Nowak, who had held the office since 2019.

Mirosław Wróblewski graduated in law and political science (specialisation – international relations). He is the author of nearly 100 articles and academic publications on constitutional law, international law, European law and human rights protection.

From 2007 to 2024 he was an employee of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (the Ombudsman), where he served as Director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department. Former Chairman of the Committee for Human Rights in the National Bar Association of Attorneys at Law.

Mirosław Wróblewski was a member of the Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) Management Board from 2012 to 2017. In 2012 he was elected as Chairman of the FRA Budget Committee, and in 2014 he was elected as one of 4 members of the FRA Executive Committee by the Management Board.

In 2009-2010, he was the coordinator of the Programme for Cooperation of Ombudsmen of the EU Eastern Partnership Countries initiated by the Commissioner for Human Rights. He repeatedly took part in the preparation of statements and represented the Commissioner for Human Rights in court proceedings, before the Constitutional Tribunal, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
