Joint action for better data protection

The Personal Data Protection Office has concluded an agreement with the Polish Chamber of Nurses and Midwives to cooperate on initiatives aimed at expanding knowledge in the field of personal data protection.

"We have signed another agreement with a very important professional association. Healthcare has to deal with a huge amount of highly sensitive personal data on a daily basis. And it is nurses and midwives, through their very responsible and important work, that are the professional group that most often deals with them. That is why our cooperation will be based on the development of the highest standards in this area," said Jakub Groszkowski, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

The agreement concluded on 21 December 2023 aims to promote and protect common values and to participate in projects organised by both institutions. It assumes a partnership between the Personal Data Protection Office and The Polish Chamber of Nurses and Midwives in activities undertaken for the benefit of legal education on the protection of personal data and deepening the legal awareness of each person about his/her rights and means of personal data protection. The two institutions are to exchange knowledge, information and experience in order to create and improve a network of professionals dealing with the protection of personal data.

The signed agreement assumes that both institutions will inform each other about meetings, congresses and seminars related to the protection of personal data. In addition, they will engage in joint courses and trainings and support each other in research, publications and expert opinions, which in the future will contribute to the development of coherent and well-thought-out regulations in the field of personal data protection.

Mariola Łodzińska, President of the Polish Chamber of Nurses and Midwives and Jakub Groszkowski, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, signed the document and expressed their hope for fruitful cooperation in the implementation of common goals in the field of personal data protection.
